The New York Giants (2-7 SU, 2-6-1 ATS) and the Carolina Panthers (2-7 SU, 2-7 ATS) face off in Munich, Germany in a game that’s almost a slap in the face to the NFL’s German fan base. Only the Dolphins have scored fewer points than the Giants, and the Panthers aren’t a lot better at 27th in the league. Carolina finally did get its second win of the season, but neither team has been anywhere close to appointment television this year.
Since an encouraging win at Seattle, the Giants have mostly played poorly. They’ve lost four in a row, and they failed to break double digits in two of those games. Their loss to Washington brought them to 1-6 against the NFC this season, and they’ve only managed to break 21 points on two occasions this year.

Carolina’s offense is usually not the problem. Things have worked out decently at times with Andy Dalton at quarterback, and the Panthers have moved the ball efficiently in their two wins. The problem is that the defense can’t stop anybody. The Panthers are giving up 32.5 points per game, and at 293 points allowed, they’re easily the worst defense in the NFL.
New York has moved the ball better in its past two games, but the Giants really aren’t a very good team on either side of the ball. Carolina, at least, has shown that it can move the football, and it should take advantage of a middling Giants defense that often gets put into bad situations. The Giants might hang around for a while because of Carolina’s weak defense, but the Panthers should handle this game. Our prediction for New York vs. Carolina is Panthers +6.5.
