New York City hosts New York Red Bulls and hopes the Hudson River Derby is what they need to get back on track. The Citizens have traditionally played well in this rivalry matchup, and they've won two of their past three meetings with their neighbors.
City's problem is that it just isn't scoring goals right now. In its past eight matches, City has recorded one goal or less every time it has taken the pitch. It's managed to win three of those matches, which speaks to how good the City defense has been during this stretch. But at some point, you have to score, or you're just going to be putting up a lot of scoreless draws and 1-0 losses. And that has been City's fate as of late, as it has just one point in three matches.

This really is a battle of two sides that are completely inconsistent. The Red Bulls tend to be home warriors, but have been practically helpless when they leave Red Bull Arena. A great example comes in their past two MLS matches: they smashed Los Angeles Galaxy 7-0 at home, then went to Nashville and got picked off in a 2-1 defeat.
That's been the story of their entire campaign to this point: the Red Bulls have won four in a row in New Jersey, but have just one point in their past four MLS matches outside the Garden State. Crossing the Hudson shouldn't be a big deal (unless you count the traffic), but it makes a big difference where both sides are concerned.
