The New Jersey Devils aim to wrap up a disappointing season with a positive result on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.
The Devils have missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second time in three years despite opening the campaign with an 8-1-0 run. The team was terrible during the winter months and hasn’t had enough time late in the season to make up for it.
While the season as a whole hasn’t gone according to plan for the Devils, they have flashed potential with their recent play. Since the start of March, New Jersey has amassed 27 points with a 13-7-1 record. Only seven teams have been more successful over that stretch.
New Jersey’s recent good run of results includes a 4-3 overtime victory at home against the Bruins. Boston has been tough to beat for most of the campaign, but the team has taken the foot off the gas after locking up a playoff spot.
Marco Strum’s men host the Devils after posting a 1-3-2 record over their last six games. Strum has started resting players and may leave several key contributors out again, which should give the visitors a lift on Tuesday.

Our Boston Bruins vs New Jersey Devils Prediction
Carolina is the only team in the league with more home wins than the Bruins, who have gone 28-11-1 at TD Garden. They generally play with great confidence in front of their fans. However, the team hasn’t looked the same recently and has struggled to score goals. Their focus already appears to be fully on the postseason.
New Jersey has played well late in the campaign, with their power play catching fire. The success with the man advantage has helped the Devils average the third-most goals in the NHL since March. Led by Team USA’s Olympic hero Jack Hughes, New Jersey has posted 3.71 goals per game over its last 21 outings.
Our prediction for Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils: Devils to win race to 2 goals.
