The Boston Bruins will host the New Jersey Devils in an Eastern Conference showdown on Saturday at TD Garden.

The Bruins are just two points off the top of the Atlantic Division, but they have struggled for consistency lately. Marco Strum's team hasn't won back-to-back games for three weeks. Beating a desperate Devils team will be challenging, especially if David Pastrnak can't return to the lineup.

Pastrnak has missed four straight games with an undisclosed injury. The team considers him day-to-day, but it's unclear when he will be available to rejoin the action.

The Devils have their own injury issues and will be without Jack Hughes for an 11th consecutive contest. The team has dropped six games since his exit from the lineup. A few more frustrating weeks could be ahead for New Jersey, as Hughes isn't expected to return until at least mid-January.

With Hughes on the sidelines, the Devils have lost a huge amount of their creative spark and offensive threat. Sheldon Keefe has seen his team shut out twice in the past eight games. After starting the season as one of the best offensive teams in the NHL, the Devils now own a mediocre scoring record of 3.00 goals per game.
