Just like in 2024, the New England Revolution will not be present in the 2025 MLS playoffs. In fact, they will finish 11th in MLS regardless of whether they win, draw, or lose the final game of the regular season at Gillette Stadium when they face the Chicago Fire.
The Revs are coming off a lackluster performance in Fort Lauderdale on their last visit to Inter Miami. The sportsbooks didn't believe the Revs could even tie that game; they were right. The New England Revolution lost 4-1 to Messi and company; in the first half of that match, they didn't even register a single shot on goal.
The goal for the New England Revolution was scored by young Israeli Dor Turgeman. Dor Turgeman had only played two games for the Revs since joining the MLS side. Dor Turgeman, 21, was called up to represent the Israeli national team, so he will arrive with very little time for the match against Chicago Fire and is unlikely to start. Another Israeli, defender Ilay Feingold, is a possible injury absentee; he joins the already confirmed absences of Ceballos and Ganago for New England's 2025 MLS finale.
But for the Chicago Fire, the final match will have an impact on the standings. They'll also enter Gillette Stadium inspired by their last visit, a 5-3 win over Inter Miami in Florida.

Our New England Revolution vs Chicago Fire Prediction
There are two players who play a pivotal role for each team. For the Revs, it's Spaniard Carles Gil; he's registered an assist in each of his last two games. Zinckernagel, on the other hand, is the creative force of the Chicago Fire, registering a very impressive 14 assists this season.
New England has nothing at stake except pride; they are undergoing an internal change following the recent dismissal of their previous manager, and they lost 3-2 to the Chicago Fire in September. Bamba, Zinckernagel, and Cuypers scored for Chicago on that occasion.
Our prediction for New England vs Chicago Fire is: Chicago Fire to win.
