Dayton didn't close out the year very well, losing to George Mason and Loyola-Chicago over its final five games. Even in the games the Flyers won, the defense wasn't up to scratch. In Dayton's past two wins, VCU scored 86 and Saint Louis scored 83. Only once in the Flyers' final six regular season games did they keep their opponent below 70 points.
