After winning both of their first two games of the week, the Nashville Predators are looking to complete a hat trick of victories on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes at the Lenovo Center.
Nashville's season has been a nightmare overall, but the team has recently gained some momentum. This week's wins over Calgary and Florida have improved the Predators' record over their last five outings to 4-1-0.
On Saturday, Nashville will try to win a third consecutive game for the first time this season. Andrew Brunette's team can do it against a side that is going through its toughest period of the campaign.
Carolina suffered only a handful of losses before November, but the team has been very inconsistent over the past four weeks. Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs marked Carolina's third loss in five games.
This season, the Hurricanes have dropped back-to-back games only two times. They typically bounce back well from setbacks and will be eager to get back on track against Nashville on Saturday.
Previously, meetings with teams from the Central Division have suited Rod Brind'Amour's squad well, as they have dominated these contests, going 4-1-1 in six matchups.
