Nole demonstrated his unquenchable thirst for winning anew when he gutted out a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 comeback win over Yannick Hanfmann of Germany in the third round. Djokovic, who has reached the semis of every Grand Slam tournament this year, captured 85 percent of his first serves and seized two key breakpoint conversions that helped him put away Hanfmann for good.
Munar also survived a three-slugfest against Yoshihito Nishioka 6-4, 5-7, 6-1. The Spaniard racked up 51 points behind the first serves and fired 12 aces, surrendering only two service breaks. He also earned five breakpoints, including two in the third set that sealed his place the round of 16. Munar is 15-10 on the hard court this season.
