The BBVA Stadium will be the venue for the first leg of the semifinal between Rayados de Monterrey and Toluca, two teams with very different current situations. While Rayados surprisingly qualified for this stage after eliminating América, Toluca are the current Mexican soccer champions and one of the strongest teams so far.
Rayados de Monterrey, thanks to a goal by Germán Berterame in the final minutes, ended up eliminating América, their first elimination in the quarterfinals since André Jardine arrived at the club. In fact, the Monterrey team was the only club to advance from the quarterfinals as visitors.
Although Toluca's team was not spectacular in its last match against Bravos de Juárez, the fact that they dominated them throughout the campaign helps them arrive more rested than the rest of their rivals. For this round, the question is whether Alexis Vega will be 100% or if they will continue to play without him.

In a way, the pressure on the Monterrey team is vital, especially given that they have strengthened their squad with expensive players, such as Sergio Ramos.
