Monterrey and Cruz Azul will clash on Tuesday night in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16. Monterrey will want to maximize their home advantage to gain a foothold in the quarterfinals ahead of their Leg 2 clash. They were impressive in the first round after defeating the Guatemalan side Xelaju FC 3-1 on aggregate. The Mexicans will want to make it past the Round of 16 this time around after Vancouver bundled them out in the last edition.

Cruz Azul, on the other hand, will know that even a draw on Tuesday night will significantly increase their chances of advancing to the next stage. The Liga MX side was on fire in the first round after routing Vancouver FC 8-0 on aggregate. Midfielder, Luca Romero, will be pumped up to continue where he left off after scoring a hattrick against Vancouver. They’re certainly among the favorites to lift the cup.
