Manchester City travels to the principality to face Monaco in Matchday 2 of the Champions League. The club earned three points in their first Champions League match, a 2-0 victory against Napoli, where they creditably took advantage of Di Lorenzo's early red card. Guardiola's team won with goals from Haaland and Doku less than 10 minutes apart.
Manchester City has been dominant against bottom-tier Premier League teams this season. A testament to this is their 5-1 thrashing of Burnley in the Premier League, where Norwegian striker Haaland scored twice after the 90th minute.
But City have not performed well on at least three occasions this year when facing tougher opponents. They failed to win the Premier League title against Europa League champions Tottenham, losing 0-2 at the Etihad. At the Amex Stadium, they lost 1-2 to Brighton, despite winning early, and at the Emirates Stadium, they earned a miraculous 1-1 draw against Arsenal, a match in which they were outclassed by the Gunners in every aspect.
Monaco, meanwhile, has been involved in high-scoring matches this season, having already lost three matches, including a painful thrashing by Club Brugge to kick off their run in the new Champions League.

Our Monaco vs Manchester City Prediction
Injuries have diminished the true potential of both teams. For City, there is concern about Rodri's frequent injuries, and he could miss Wednesday's match. But the Premier League club is also dealing with injuries to Cherki and Marmoush.
Meanwhile, for Monaco, Hutter's injury list consists of seven players. This does not include Pogba, who has yet to make his debut for Monaco and possibly won't make it on Wednesday either. Ansu Fati, who has revived his career with a spectacular start for Monaco, scoring four goals, all coming off the bench in the last three matches, seems likely.
Just like the two matches between these sides in 2017, eight years later, another goal-fest is likely.
Our prediction for Monaco vs Manchesters City is: Over 3.5 goals.
