Mirra Andreeva of Russia look to continue her mastery over Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic in their fifth career duel on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Bad Homburg Open.
Andreeva notched her first grass-court win in almost two years, as she rallied from a set down to beat Clara Tauson of Denmark 3-6 6-3 6-1. Andreeva, who reached the quarterfinal of this year’s French Open, is trying to play as many grass-court matches as she can at Bad Homburg before she plunges into action at the Wimbledon Open next year. The gutsy win over Tauson should be a big boost to Andreeva’s confidence ahead of the grass court Grand Slam, especially after the Russian took a shocking loss to Magdalena Frech 6-2 5-7 0-6 in the first round of the Berlin Ladies Open last week.
Noskova advanced to the round of 8 at Bad Homburg with a 2-6 6-2 6-4 win over Donna Vekic. Noskova, who also reached the quarterfinals of her previous tournament at Nottingham, fired 14 aces and captured 4 service breaks to rally past last year’s Wimbledon Open semifinalist.
