The Minnesota Wild (25-10-8, 12-6-3 Away) will get another shot at the Kings (17-14-9, 6-9-4 Home) tonight when the two teams play once again at the crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. The puck is scheduled to drop at 10:30 p.m. EST with coverage provided by ESPN+.
If you are getting a sense of déjà vu, that’s understandable because these two teams just faced off in LA at the crypto.com Arena Saturday night, a game the Kings went on to win 5-4 in a shootout. It was a pretty competitive game in which Los Angeles never trailed. Adrian Kempe struck first, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead in the first period, but the Wild wasted no time striking back, getting on the board a couple of minutes later to tie the game up at 1-1. The two teams ended up alternating goals the rest of the way in regulation, with each getting one in the second and pair in the third. No one scored in the overtime period; Brandt Clarke scored the go-ahead goal for the Kings in the shootout.
Minnesota won the first meeting with Los Angeles back in October, a game that also ended in a shootout, but one that Minnesota won instead.

It was a pretty close game Saturday, and I am sure it will be just as hard-fought this time around. That, of course, makes it hard to pick a winner, which is why I’m recommending betting on the TOTAL instead. While it was a high-scoring game Saturday, I don’t expect it to be one tonight. LA has one of the worst offenses in the league, and Minnesota ranks second in goals allowed per game with 2.61 (average), and LA, third, with 2.65 per game. I think we’ll see a regression back to the norm in this game, resulting in a low-scoring game.
