The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions are playing for the NFC North division title and number 1 overall seed in the NFC for the playoffs. The loser of the game will drop to the 5th seed and play on the road to open their playoff schedule. The Vikings are riding a 9-game winning streak that was narrowly derailed last week when they snuck by the Packers with a 27-25 win. That win came a week after a 3-point victory over the Seattle Seahawks. It has been a magical story for Sam Darnold who took over for rookie JJ McCarthy who was lost for the year in the preseason. Darnold has revitalized his career and has this Vikings team playing at a level that no one thought possible. Detroit has bounced back from a loss to the Bills 3 weeks ago by defeating the Bears 34-17 and then the Niners last week 40-34. In the win over the Niners, this Lions team showed serious grit after falling behind 21-13 and again 28-21 and fighting back to get the win.
