Two sides on the fringes of the playoff race go head-to-head on Saturday evening, as Minnesota United host the LA Galaxy at Allianz Field.
A few weeks ago, United and LA looked in prime position to reach the postseason, but both come into Saturday's game outside of the playoff places following poor runs of results.
Minnesota's 4-2 loss in St Louis last weekend means that they have now lost three games in a row. Worringly for United HC Cameron Knowles, his side have conceded a whopping 14 goals in their last four games. Knowles will need to swiftly find a solution to those defensive woes if United are to force their way into the playoff spots.
LA's 1-1 draw with Seattle on Saturday was their ninth of the season - the most in the Western Conference. As has been the case throughout the season, the Galaxy started brightly and deservedly took a first half lead. However, a second half drop-off allowed the Sounders to force their way back into the game and claim a late equalizer.
