Out of form Minnesota United will be looking for their first victory since early May, when they host Mexican side Atlante in a vital Leagues Cup clash on Wednesday night.
United have lost their opening two games in the competition, but can consider themselves somewhat unfortunate to have been edged out on penalties by Tigres last time out, following a much-improved performance. Goals have been the biggest issue for Minnesota during their long winless run, and they have now scored just six goals in their last eight matches.
Atlante started the Leagues Cup with an impressive 1-0 victory at Vancouver, but came crashing back to Earth at the weekend, as they were crushed 4-0 by Real Salt Lake. Atlante's domestic form has also been hit and miss in recent weeks; they have picked up a win, a draw and a loss from their last three Liga MX fixtures.
