Cleveland Guardians gun for a 3-0 sweep as they take on the Minnesota Twins for the final time in their three-game series on Sunday at Progressive Field. The Guardians dominated in Game 2 after barely edging the Twins, 3-2, in the series opener on Friday. Logan Allen threw seven scoreless innings, allowing his team to race to an imposing 11-0 lead. Minnesota made a comeback attempt in the top of the 9th inning but the deficit was just too much for them to overcome. Guardians, the No.1 team in the AL Central with a 29-17 record, have now built a 1.5-game lead over the 28-19 Kansas City Royals and 4.5 games ahead of the 24-21 Twins. Twins RHP Chris Paddack (4-2, 4.89 ERA with 41 strikeouts) will take on Guardians RHP Tanner Bibee (2-1, 4.32 ERA with 48 strikeouts).
