Booked as -139 favorites at DraftKings, the Minnesota Twins eye their 9th win in their last 11 meetings against the Chicago White Sox on Friday at Rate Field.
The Twins were on the receiving end of a three-game sweep against the Athletics this week. Only a miracle now can send Minnesota back to the postseason after compiling 58-69 in the season, fourth in the AL Central. Moreover, the Twins are missing the service of one of their most reliable hurlers, Simeon Woods-Richardson, who is still on the 15-day IL due to illness.
Similar to the Twins, the White Sox are now out of the postseason race after amassing only 45 wins this late in the season. Chicago is dead last in the AL Central record with a 45-82 record. The White Sox fall in the bottom percentile in both key offense and pitching categories. They rank 27th in total runs (490), 29th in batting average (.231), 19th in ERA (4.18), and 25th in WHIP (1.37).

I also think projected Twins starter Zeb Matthews will win his duel with White Sox starter Sean Burke, who is expected to make his first start since his triple-A stint. Matthews is not giving up too many runs recently, averaging 2.2 earned runs per game.
Moreover, the Twins could also take advantage of a horrendous White Sox bullpen that has given up a 12.46 ERA in their last five games. I could also pick the Twins -1.5 runs for more profits at +121, but I am hesitant to go all in because the White Sox have also been strong against the spread when playing teams from their division (12-8 ATS).
