The Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves will kick off their series on Friday at Truist Park.
The Twins have given their campaign a new lease of life after winning 3 of their last 4 games, including two straight wins over the star-studded New York Mets. Minnesota is still struggling at the plate, batting a .238 BA with 3.3 runs per game over their last five games. However, they have terrorized teams from the bump with a 2.74 ERA in that same stretch.
The Braves are still trying to figure out how to turn around this season following one of the worst starts in the franchise’s history. Atlanta is last in the National League East with a 5-13 record. Despite having reining CY Young Winner Chris Sale and promising youngster Spencer Schwellenbach, Atlanta sports a 4.46 ERA, 5th worst in the MLB.

Getting Chris Paddack to start vs. the Braves in the series opener boosts up my faith in the Twins to win on Friday. Paddack is coming off a strong start (1 ER in 5.0 innings vs. Detroit on April 12) and has pitched well in his last two starts against Atlanta, including a game where he blanked them for five innings. The Braves counter with Bryce Elder, who carried a 7.20 ERA and surrendered five earned runs in his last start. Minnesota is 0-8 SU in its last 8 games against Atlanta, but again, I feel they are about to end their curse on Friday. Our betting prediction for Atlanta Braves vs. Minnesota Twins: Twins will win.
