If the season ended today, both the Minnesota Timberwolves (46-30) and the Philadelphia 76ers (42-34) would be the 6 seed in their respective conferences. That would mean they would each face the 3 seed and not have homecourt advantage. Both teams can move up a spot and even a second position into the 4 seed, where they could get homecourt advantage. It will not be an easy task with just a handful of games remaining. However, if either wants to accomplish the move, it will need to start with a win in this game.
The 76ers have been taking advantage of the games that they are supposed to win lately. They have won 9 of the last 10 games in which they are favored. They have also won 5 of their last 6 home games. While that will not help them in the playoffs if they are unable to secure homecourt in the first series, it should help them in this matchup with Minnesota. The 76ers are coming off a 153-131 win over the Wizards on Wednesday and did so without the services of Joel Embiid. He is doubtful for this game as well, but the 76ers have played many games this season without him and found ways to win.
Minnesota has lost 2 of its last 3 games, both losses came against the Detroit Pistons, who are currently the top seed in the Eastern Conference. However, their win came against the Mavericks, who are near the bottom of the standings. Now, they face the 76ers, with whom they had trouble back in February.
The 76ers defeated the Timberwolves in that matchup in February by the score of 135-108. Embiid did not play and the backcourt of Maxey and Edgecomb went off for 63 points. We could be in for a similar game tonight.

Our Philadelphia 76ers vs Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction
The 76ers are no strangers to having to play without Joel Embiid. They did just that in the last meeting with the Timberwolves. However, they were also without Paul George, who was serving a 25-game suspension at the time. Tonight, George is in the lineup and has been playing at a high level since his return. He is averaging 25ppg since his return and looks to have this team rejuvenated. We are backing George and the Sixers tonight to pick up the home victory.
Our prediction for Philadelphia 76ers vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Philadelphia to win
