New York Liberty (12-8) and Minnesota Lynx (15-4) will meet for the first time this season on Friday night at Barclays Center. The Liberty will be gunning for a statement win and keep piling pressure on the Dream at the top of the Eastern Conference. They bounced back from their two-game away defeats against the Valkyries and the Storm to defeat the Aces 93-85 on Tuesday night at home. This result proves that they are ready to beat the best teams, especially at home.
Like the Liberty, Minnesota Lynx cannot afford any slip-ups in the West, lest they lose their top spot. Despite their impressive form this season, they remain just a game ahead of the defending champions, Las Vegas Aces. A win could also see the Lynx extend their winning run after defeating the Wings and the Mystics last week. They’ll be under pressure to win ahead of their repeat matchup with the Liberty on Saturday next week.
