Two teams looking to stay relevant in their respective divisions, the Minnesota Twins and the Milwaukee Brewers will get their weekend series started on Friday at Target Field.
The Twins halted their losing streak at six games to stay at .500 after blasting the Cincinnati Reds 12-5 in Thursday’s series finale. Byron Buxton dazzled for Minnesota, belting two solo homers to spark Minnesota’s offense that averages 4.6 runs per game on a .234 BA over their last five games.
The Brewers earned their third win in five games following their 8-7 win over the Cubs also on Thursday. Milwaukee is No.2 in the NL Central with a 40-35 record, 5.5 games behind the 45-29 Cubs. In the last five games, the Brewers have batted 4.5 runs on a .265 batting average and pitched a 4.50 ERA.
