Milwaukee improved its record to 57-40, moving one game within the 58-39 Chicago Cubs.
The Dodgers struggled anew against the Brewers just over a week after being on the receiving end of a three-game sweep in Milwaukee. The Dodgers’ star-studded batting lineup spiraled into oblivion, succumbing completely to the Brewers’ pitching might. Los Angeles has averaged 3.0 runs per game on a .192 batting average in their last five games, underscoring their ailing offense.
