The Milwaukee Brewers will try to stay on the right side of the scoreboard when they take on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in the Windy City. Game One of today’s doubleheader is scheduled to get underway at 2:20 p.m. EST.

Their 14-game winning streak came to an end in Cincinnati yesterday with the Brewers falling 3-2 in extra innings (F/10). Chad Patrick is scheduled to start the first half of today’s doubleheader for the Brewers. Patrick is 3-7 in 19 appearances (18 starts) this season with a 3.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and .256 OBA. He has gone 1-3 on the road in eight appearances (seven starts) with an OBA of .275. Patrick last faced the Cubs on June 17 in Chicago, lasting five innings and giving up six hits, four earned runs, and two walks with five strikeouts. As for the Cubs. Matthew Boyd is scheduled to start. Boyd is 11-6 this season in 24 starts with a 2.46 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and .225 OBA. He’s been tough to beat when pitching at Wrigley, going 9-0 in 11 starts with a 1.75 ERA and .199 OBA.

This is a tough one. Boyd has been tough at home this season, but the Brewers are red hot since the break and tagged him for five earned runs in five innings in his July 28 start in Milwaukee. However, Patrick doesn’t exactly make me feel confident, even though the Cubs are struggling at the plate (.181 BA over the last week). Either team could win this game. I don’t see either as having a definitive edge. But I don’t think it will be a high-scoring game.
