The Miami Dolphins (1-3 SU, 0-4 ATS) visit the New England Patriots (1-3 SU, 1-2-1 ATS) in a battle of two teams that have fallen off a cliff since Week 1. The Patriots seemed to be better than expected when they beat Cincinnati in Week 1, but things have really gone off the rails since then. The Patriots have managed just 16 points in their past two games, albeit both played away from home.
Miami’s excuse is quarterback play, as Tua Tagovailoa has been out since Week 2 and the Dolphins have looked nothing like an NFL team without him. The game against the Titans last week was the latest example of the Dolphins failing to compete, as it was their third straight loss by at least 17 points.

On paper, this is the opponent that Miami needs right now. The Dolphins were a thorn in New England’s side for the past few years of the Bill Belichick era, and things haven’t really gone very well for New England overall since Tom Brady’s departure.
But there’s no guarantee that Miami can keep up its past performance in this matchup. As far as the Patriots are from their Super Bowl days, they at least seem to have some things going in the right direction. Miami is a ship without a port at the moment, and the Dolphins don’t really have an answer on their roster right now. With Tagovailoa on the shelf, Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntler are a long way from getting the job done. As such, the value is on the home team.
