Ohio State stumbled early in the season, losing its first game of the season to No. 1 UConn, 100-68, (in their third game), but then rolled through the rest of their nonconference schedule and didn’t lose again until facing No. 4 UCLA (82-75). But since then, they have been a dominant force in the Big Ten, winning 11 of their last 12, nine of them by double digits. The Buckeyes last played on Sunday, Feb. 8, and beat Oregon, 80-64. As for Maryland, the Terrapins got the season off to a 14-0, 2-0 Big Ten start before its first loss, 73-70 vs. Illinois. But they remained one of the better teams in the conference until a dreadful 0-4 stretch that saw them drop three games to ranked teams, with one loss coming in OT and another in 2OT. They have since rebounded with three consecutive wins, the last coming against Penn State on Thursday, Feb. 7, 81-62.
