On Thursday, there are plenty more second-round matches taking place at Wimbledon. On the male side of things, there's an interesting clash between two players who got the job done in five sets during the first round. Marton Fucsovics takes on Gael Monfils. For the Hungarian, it wasn't easy against Kovacevic of the USA, whom he finally got the better of in five sets. It was nice to see Fucsovics battle to that win, but his effort didn't exactly suggest that he'd make light work of facing Monfils, who even at the age of 38, continues to be tough to face.
The French competitor currently ranks above his opponent here and quite a bit above, while he has an OK record at Wimbledon, often reaching the third round, making the fourth round on three occasions too. In recent years, we've seen the veteran beat some very useful players, so I really wouldn't be surprised if he passed this particular test.
