Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine looks to stay in the groove when she squares it off with Daria Kasatkina of Australia in the second round of the 2025 Italian Open on Friday.
Fresh off a quarterfinal run in Madrid, Kostyuk continued to turn heads with her amazing play as she opened her campaign in Rome with an emphatic 6-0 6-1 win over Filipino teen sensation Alexandra Eala. Kostyuk was all over Eala in their first-round match late Wednesday, winning 85 percent of her first serves and breaking Eala 6 times. The Ukrainian is now 5-2 on the clay and 15-10 overall in 2025.
Things have been a bit rough for Kasatkina since the Russian-born tennis star started representing Australia. Kasatkina is 2-2 as an Australian tennis competitor, having reached only the third round of both the Charleston and Madrid Open.
