Magda Linette of Poland will take on Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan in the first of the four quarterfinal matches scheduled on Thursday at the 2025 Strasbourg International.
Linette moved on to the quarterfinal round at Strasbourg with another straight-set victory over Rebecca Sramkova 6-4 6-3. Linette, who eliminated the returning Barbora Krejcikova in the first round 6-3 6-3, seized control by winning 31 points off her first serves and 15 more off her second. The Pole also scored four breakpoints against Sramkova.
Rybakina demolished Xinyu Wang of China 6-1 6-3 to reach the quarterfinal of this WTA 250 event. The former Wimbledon Open champion decided to compete in Strasbourg in order to get into her best possible shape ahead of the 2025 French Open. Rybakina hasn’t had a smooth buildup for Roland Garros, as her clay-court campaign has been undermined by third-round losses at Madrid and Italian Open.
