Liudmila Samsonova of Russia will go head-to-head with Zheng Qinwen of China in the fourth round of the 2025 French Open.
Samsonova cruised to her third round-of-16 Grand Slam appearance after beating Dayana Yastremska 6-2 6-3. Samsonova was flawless in her service game, holding all her serves and winning 32 points off the first serves. She also broke Yastremska four times and drilled 2 aces.
Zheng returned to the round of 16 for the first time since 2022 with a surgical 6-3 6-4 win over Victoria Mboko of Canada. The Chinese showed no mercy against the Canadian teenager as she captured 28 first-serve points and shattered Mboko’s serve four times in the match. Zheng can earn her fourth Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance with a win over Samsonova on Sunday.
