Jesper de Jong of the Netherlands and Luciano Darderi of Italy will contest for the men’s singles title at the 2025 Bastad Open on Sunday.
Jong will be playing in his first ATP Main Tour final this year after winning four in a row at the Nordea Open. The 25-year-old Dutch ousted William Rejchtman Vinciguerra in the first round 6-3 6-2, Vit Kopriva in the second 7-6(3) 7-5, Tallon Griekspoor in the quarterfinals 4-6 7-6(3) 6-3, 6-3 7-6(3), and Camillo Ugo Carabelli 6-3 7-6(3) in the semis. Jong will walk into Sunday’s final with a 163-89 record on clay.
Darderi edged Francisco Cerundolo 6-2 3-6 7-6(3) in a thrilling semifinal showdown on Saturday. The Italian hacked out the close win by converting six breakpoint chances and collecting 41 points off the first serves. Darderi had previously defeated Raphael Collignon 6-2 2-6 6-2, Elias Ymer 6-2 6-2 and Sebastian Baez 6-0 6-2 in the previous rounds. Darderi has set his sights on a second ATP Main Tour title this year, several months after winning the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech.
