The LSU Tigers and UCLA Bruins will face off as part of the NCAAW Elite Eight Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m. EST at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA. Fans can watch this SEC/Big Ten contest on ABC.
LSU has had an impressive run in the Tournament so far, starting with a 55-point win over San Diego State in the first round, a 30-point win over Florida State in the second, and finally a seven-point win over the No. 2 seed North Carolina State (80-73). They haven’t had to lean too much on any one player, either. Flaujae Johnson led the way against the Aztecs with 22 points, Mikaylah Williams vs. the Seminoles with 28, and Aneesah Morrow against NC State with 30 points.
Points will be hard to come by against a UCLA defense that has allowed less than 58 points per game this season. True to form, teams are averaging a little over 58 points per game in Tournament play. But if LSU is going to have a chance at upsetting the Bruins, they must do one thing: control Lauren Betts. The junior center is having an incredible Tournament with double-doubles in the last two rounds: 31 points and ten rebounds vs. Ole Miss and 30 points and 14 rebounds against Richmond.

Our UCLA Bruins vs LSU Tigers Prediction
I expect LSU to make a game of it, but I do not think they have what it takes to contain Lauren Betts. UCLA’s center has been a force to be reckoned with and will likely lead the Bruins into the Final Four for the first time in program history. Will it be an easy win? No, of course not. The score will probably be close at the break; LSU might even hold a lead. But Betts and the Bruins will get the job done in the second half.
Our LSU vs. ULCA Pick: UCLA -4.5
