NBA teams are putting the 2025-2026 season behind them, and the rebuilding process for several teams—especially the Bulls, after a disappointing season—is already underway at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. They are looking to rejuvenate their roster, and some players are eager to make a name for themselves. Meanwhile, the Lakers are searching for players who can earn NBA playing time here.
The Lakers' emerging talent is already standing out in this Summer League, having played three games and won them all: 96-84 against the Thunder, 91-70 against the Mavericks, and 99-85 against the Clippers. The Lakers had already shown promise in the California Classic and are now beginning to differentiate themselves from last season, which ended with their elimination against the Thunder. They are also entering a new phase after LeBron James' departure.
For their part, the Bulls won their first NBA Summer League game against the Wizards, fielding an all-American team with the exception of two players. Jaylin Seller, 23, and Livingston, 22, led Chicago in points.
