Despite absorbing a 4-11 blowout loss, the Dodgers are still listed as -130 favorites against the Blue Jays.
Series Recap:
The Blue Jays emphatically drew first blood as they crushed the defending champions 11-4 in Game 1 of the World Series. The Dodgers raced to an early 2-0 lead with run-driving hits from Enrique Hernandez in the second inning and Will Smith in the third. Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho leveled the score at 2-2 with a two-run blast off a pitch from Blake Snell in the 4th inning. Toronto torched the Dodgers’ pitching trio of Snell, Emmett Sheehan, and Anthony Band with a 9-run rally in the sixth inning. Shohei Ohtani tried to rally his team back into the game with a two-run homer in the seventh inning, but the deficit was just too massive for the Dodgers to overcome.
Pitchers Matchup:
Dodgers RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto – Yamamoto is 4-1 in his last five starts with a 1.16 ERA. In his last start, Yamamoto earned his first postseason complete game, allowing one earned run with seven strikeouts in a 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Yamamoto will be facing the Blue Jays for the first time.
Blue Jays RHP Kevin Gausmann – Gausmann is 2-3 in his last five starts with a 4.10 ERA. The Jays starter surrendered one earned run over 5.2 innings in a 2-6 loss to Seattle in his last start on October 17. Gausmann allowed an average of 2.3 earned runs over 5.0 innings per game in his last three starts with the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers - Toronto Blue Jays: Form Analysis
The Dodgers are 5-1 in their last six matches. Over the last five games, Los Angeles has pitched a 3.07 ERA and averaged 4.0 runs on a .230 BA. The Dodgers’ batting lineup could not outgun the Blue Jays in Game 1, but many are expecting a better showing from Ohtani, Freddy Freeman, Mookie Betts, and the rest of the Dodgers sluggers next game.
The Blue Jays are also 5-1 in their last six matches. Toronto has surrendered a 3.48 ERA and averaged 6.6 runs per game on a .303 BA in its last five games. Vladimire Guerrero and George Springer combined for 2-for-7 at the plate in Game 1, but the Jays proved they are more than just a two-man show as Addisson Barger, Daulton Varsho, and Alejandro Kirk stepped up big time.

Los Angeles Dodgers & Toronto Blue Jays Squad Analysis
Yamamoto sports a 2-1 record with a 1.83 ERA in the postseason. The Dodgers are pinning their hopes on the Japanese hurler to sustain his terrific form after Blake Snell allowed five earned runs in Game 1. Of course, Los Angeles will be counting on Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman to lead the charge on offense, a day after they were smoked by the Jays.
Meanwhile, the Jays will try to outgun the Dodgers for the second straight day. It's ridiculous to think that Toronto did all of that without an RBI from heavy hitters like Guerrero and Springer. This team has the depth, but they can become a lot better if Gausmann could put together another strong showing against the Dodgers' batting row.

Our Los Angeles Dodgers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction
Fearless Forecast: LA Dodgers are 9-1 SU in the last 10 games on the road after Friday's loss snapped their winning streak on the road. With Yamamoto on the mound, expect the Dodgers to roar back into the series with a surgical win in Game 2. I have big expectations for Ohtani, Freeman, and Betts to take the lead on offense. Gausmann is a solid starter, but the Dodgers will not allow the Blue Jays to build momentum by taking a 2-0 lead. They will adjust and recalibrate in Game 2. Roki Sasaki will be the closer in Game 2 after being shelved in the blowout loss.
Our betting prediction for the LA Dodgers vs. the Toronto Blue Jays: the Dodgers will win.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs Toronto Blue Jays - Other Interesting Picks
The Dodgers -1.5 Runs
The Dodgers will win this one by more than one run. Yamamoto and Sasaki should neutralize the Blue Jays that exploded for 11 runs in Game 1. The Dodgers are also an offensive juggernaut that can erupt anytime, so you better believe they will come back with a vengeance in game 2. The Dodgers averaged 4.5 runs per game on the road in the regular season.
Our betting prediction for the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the Toronto Blue Jays: the Dodgers -1.5 Runs
Yoshinobu Yamamoto 6+ Strikeouts
Yoshinobu Yamamoto hasn't pitched against the Blue Jays, but I am confident he will shine again on the mound on Saturday. The Japanese pitching star has averaged 6.4 strikeouts per game in his last five mound appearances. In his last start vs. the Brewers, Yamamoto punched out seven batters. He also struck out 9 batters in the wild card series game against the Cincinnati Reds on October 1.
Our betting prediction for the LA Dodgers vs. the Toronto Blue Jays: Yoshinobu Yamamoto 6+ Strikeouts
