The Los Angeles Dodgers (72-52 SU, 59-65 SU) play out the final game of their series with the St. Louis Cardinals (61-62 SU, 61-62 ATS). The Cardinals appear to have conceded their playoff hopes, as they’ve lost five of their past six games. They did come up with a win over Los Angeles last time out, but that was because Andre Pallante came up with a very sharp performance.
The Dodgers have to come up with stronger finishes to their series. They’ve managed to win the opener of their past four series, but only once did they manage to close out the series by winning the final game. They’re in a tough fight with Arizona and San Diego for the division; they cannot afford to give away games against middling opponents.

Even though Clayton Kershaw seems to be rounding into form, this still appears too early to trust him to shut down this lineup. He looked good against Milwaukee, but he also had a rough start on the road in San Diego. Even worse for under bettors, Kershaw doesn’t appear to have his arm strength built up enough to go as long as he used to. He’s only made it through five innings once, and the Dodgers don’t have the luxury of giving him a long leash.
St. Louis seems to have its offense working again after a terrible series in Cincinnati. The Cardinals usually blast the ball at Great American Ball Park, but they put up just four runs in a sweep at the hands of the Reds. They’ve hit the ball well at Busch, scoring four runs or more in five straight home games. They don’t have a dominant starter, as Sonny Gray’s career has been mostly good but rarely great. With the hitters looking to be ahead of the pitchers here, our prediction for Los Angeles vs. St. Louis is Over 7.5 Runs.
