Shohei Ohtani, who is fresh off his best pitching stint (1 earned run, 9 Ks over 5.0 innings in a 5-1 win over Cincinnati on August 27) since returning from a lengthy rehab, should give the Dodgers the strong start they need to quash the Pirates’ spirit right from the get-go. Although Pirates starter Braxton Ashcraft has been terrific in his last five starts (3-2, 1.42 ERA), I still trust that the Dodgers’ big bats will come through with the winning plays in Game 2.
