The Yankees (45-20) just had their 8-game win streak last night in extra innings to these LA Dodgers (40-35). Yoshinobu Yamamoto went 7 shutout innings while striking out 7 and giving up just 2 hits. Poteet of the Yankees pitched a strong game as well, going 4.2 innings of shutout work himself. The teams went scoreless into extras and in the top of the 11th, Teoscar Hernandez launched a 2-run homerun to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the 11th, Aaron Judge singled in Anthony Volpe to cut the lead in half, but after a Stanton strike out and a Rizzo pop out, the game was over. Nestor Cortes (3-4, 3.46) will be tasked with trying to get the Yankees back on track tonight and avoid going down 0-2 in the series. Juan Soto, who was out of the lineup yesterday with a forearm injury, is questionable once again. Gavin Stone (6-2, 2.90) will try to give the Dodgers a sweep opportunity if he can come through and get his 7th win of the season. He has gone 2 straight starts and 12 total innings without allowing a run but will have a much tougher lineup in these Yankees than the Mets and Rockies whom he faced previously.

Our Los Angeles Dodgers vs New York Yankees Prediction
Both teams struggled with their offenses last night and we believe the same will reign true tonight. Cortes and Stone have both been pitching well over their last 3-5 games. Soto is the only Yankee with great career numbers against Stone and he is likely to sit this one out again. For the Dodgers, outside of Hernandez, the Dodgers have not had much success against Cortes. Combine all this with both bullpens looking strong in their recent work and we believe we have a recipe for yet another under in this matchup.
