The Dodgers’ three-game winning streak ended with a 2-5 loss to the Mets on Saturday. Los Angeles took an early 2-0 lead behind Enrique Hernandez’s RBI single and Dalton Rushing’s grounder in the 2nd inning. After that sequence of events, the game turned into a Mets’ run party as Juan Soto woke up from his slump and came through with a two-run double with the bases loaded in the 4th inning. The Dodgers stay at No.1 in the NL West with a 32-20 record, 2 games ahead of the 30-22 Giants.
Mets pitcher David Peterson kept his composure despite squandering two runs in the second inning. He never allowed a run after that, finishing with 5 hits and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings pitched.
