Once again the Dodgers managed to shut out another team in the playoffs, the Mets failed to score a single run in their return to City Field as a commendable performance by the Dodgers bullpen that continues to take care of key starting staff shortages due to injuries.

In Game 3 after Buehler pitched 4 scoreless innings and struck out 6 Mets, Roberts turned to the heaviest names in his Bullpen with high mileage in the postseason. Kopech, Brasier and Treinen all pitched a scoreless inning and struck out at least one, with the game more open towards the end, Casparuis came in to post the last two zeros.

Ohtani, despite his bat not being as hot in the postseason, remains a latent threat, despite going 1-for-4 his last at-bat was a monstrous HR to end the Mets' aspirations of returning to the game.

The Mets struck out 13 times in total, including Alvarez striking out 3 and leaving 3 on base as did Pete Alonso.

The Dodgers then win the series 2-1 and in Game 4 the starters are expected to be Yamamoto for the Dodgers and Quintana for the Mets. Yamamoto bounced back from a poor first start in the postseason with a key second start against the Padres to advance to the NLCS where he pitched 5 scoreless innings and only allowed 2 hits.
