The Los Angeles Dodgers will go for a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2 of their National League Championship Series on Tuesday at American Family Field.
The Dodgers are the road favorites at -131 in Game 2, where Japanese hurler Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to take the mound against Brewers’ ace Freddy Peralta.
Series Recap:
The Dodgers opened the NLCS with a 2-1 squaeker against the Brewers in Game 1. Blake Snell dazzled anew on the mound, pitching eight scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. Roki Sasaki and Blake Treinen also connived to earn the final outs from Milwaukee in the 9th inning. Freddie Freeman belted a solo homer in the 6th inning to get the Dodgers on board, while Mookie Belts drew a walk with the bases loaded, allowing Max Muncy to score LA’s second run.
Starting Pitchers Matchup:
Dodgers RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto: The Japanese hurler has had mixed results in his two mound appearances so far this postseason. Yamamoto held the Cincinnati Reds scoreless for 6.2 innings and struck out 9 batters to help the Dodgers hack out an 8-4 win on October 1. In his second start, Yamamoto had an off night as he surrendered three earned runs and six hits over four innings in a 2-8 loss to the Phillies on October 8. Yamamoto will be trying to erase the memories of his nightmarish start vs. the Brewers on July 7, where he allowed three earned runs over 0.2 innings in a 1-9 loss.
Brewers RHP Freddie Peralta: Peralta has allowed a total of five earned runs over 9.2 innings across two starts in this year’s postseason. In his first start vs. the Cubs, Peralta earned a win after surrendering two earned runs and fanning 9 batters to help the Brewers win Game 1 of that divisional series, 3-9. Peralta started again five days later, but he only logged four innings after giving up three earned runs in a 0-6 loss. The Brewers ace started twice against the Dodgers this season, blanking LA for 6.0 innings in a 9-1 win on July 7 and then surrendering four earned runs in an 8-7 win on July 19.

Our Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
The LA Dodgers are in sizzling hot form over the past four weeks, going 11-1 SU in their last 12 games. The LA Dodgers are also 8-0 SU in their last 8 games on the road, which underscores the team’s championship pedigree. Milwaukee is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home. The Brewers understand the importance of winning Game 2 on their home turn, so expect them to throw everything at the Dodgers in this pivotal match.
Forecast: the road warriors Dodgers will gut out another close win over the Brewers. Yamamoto will put up a better outing this time around, while the Dodgers' fielders demonstrate top-notch defense under pressure-packed situations. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if all of a sudden we get to see Shohei Ohtani making his presence felt for the first time in this series. The Japanese two-way star had a tough series at the plate against the Phillies, but I don’t expect him to struggle for too long, considering the level of talent he brings to the table.
Our betting prediction for the Philadelphia Phillies vs. the LA Dodgers: the Dodgers will win.
