After a hopeful start to the series at Fenway Park, where the Dodgers beat the Red Sox 5-2, the Dodgers lost the next two games and, therefore, the series. That same day, the Reds beat the Rays 2-1, sweeping them in Cincinnati and returning to one of their best winning percentages ever in 2025. Brady Singer pitched 7.1 innings, striking out 8; the Reds' pitching allowed only 5 runs to the Rays in 27 innings, and Cincinnati's record now stands at 56-50.
When the Dodgers visited the Reds in 2024, they were swept; the Reds won each of those three games as betting underdogs. Yamamoto, who will start Monday's game for the Dodgers, started the final game of that series in a game the Reds won 4-1.
