Just when the Braves were getting close to matching their record and playing .500 baseball, the Dodgers arrived and won the first two of the series in Atlanta. With this, the Dodgers are in the middle of a winning streak of 7 straight games.
Even so, the Braves may have a chance to take Game 3, as Dustin May will be the Dodgers' pitcher and has a 3.95 ERA in his last five starts. The Braves will respond with Elder on the mound. On April 2nd this season, he faced the Dodgers and allowed three ERs in 4.0 IP, in a game in which he threw 70 pitches.
Elder is also coming off a strong outing against the Rockies, where he managed to pitch six innings, earning praise from Braves manager Snitker.
Of course, the Dodgers will want to have a start similar to Game 2, where they scored 7 runs in the first 4 innings and had 8 hits in the first 13 at-bats.
