And while the Angels’ ERA is still above 5.00, the sudden jump in their offense has put them in the position to outscore their opponents in their last six games.
On the other hand, the Athletics have lost their last eight games, dropping further into the bottom of the AL West standings with a 22-28 record. Oakland, which averaged around 5.0 runs per game in April, has just averaged 2.9 runs per game over its last five assignments while still pitching at a below-league-average of 4.84 ERA.

Oakland will send Luis Severino in an attempt to cool down the Angels. Severino is coming off a six-inning shutout of the Giants and averaging 0.70 earned runs in his last three starts vs. the Angels. Yet, I still feel Los Angeles is so hot right now that even Max Fried, the league’s ERA leader at 1.29, will have a hard time containing their explosive offense.
