The Los Angeles Dodgers resume their freeway series with the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, aiming to bounce back from a lackadaisical performance from both their batting and pitching personnel in Game 1.
Less than 24 hours after spanking the Athletics 19-2 in the series finale, the Dodgers lost Game 1 of their series to the AL West’s worst team, the LA Angels, 2-6, on Friday. Dustin May allowed four earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched, while the only two runs the Dodgers scored in the match came from Max Muncy and Shohei Ohtani, who posted an RBI double and a solo homer, respectively.
The Los Angeles Angels didn’t earn a regular win; they secured a morale-boosting victory by topping the best team in California, the Dodgers. The Angels’ victory would not be possible without the strong mound performance from Jack Kochanowicz, who stifled the Dodgers to one earned run in 6.2 innings. The Dodgers also got a big lift from sluggers Yoan Moncada, Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel, who had their part in the win.
