Title chasing Manchester City travel to Anfield on Sunday, where they will meet a Liverpool side that are slowly regaining the form that saw them sweep to last season's Premier League title.
City cruised to a 3-0 victory when the two teams met at the Etihad earlier in the season. Erling Haaland opened the scoring in trademark fashion, before Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku added superb strikes to complete a resounding win for Pep Guardiola's team.
When the sides last faced off at Anfield, an early Cody Gakpo strike, plus a second half penalty from Mo Salah, gave Liverpool a comfortable 2-0 win en route to the 2024-2025 Premier League title.
Overall, there is little to choose between the Reds and City in recent years. The last 15 matches between the teams have produced five draws, plus five wins apiece.

Liverpool - Manchester City: Form Analysis
Liverpool's resounding 4-1 win over Newcastle last Saturday ended a run of five Premier League games without a victory. Whilst there have been encouraging signs from the Reds in recent weeks (such as the excellent form of Florian Wirtz), it has been a frustrating season for Arne Slot's men. They are currently 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal, and their current sixth place position would not be good enough to secure them a place in next season's Champions League.
City stumbling
Despite being second in the Premier League standings, it has been somewhat of a frustrating season so far for City. Last week's 2-2 draw at Spurs highlighted their defensive frailties, whilst Erling Haaland's poor recent form has only served to highlight the club's over-reliance on his goals. That being said, Pep Guardiola's side are still just six points behind Arsenal in the title race, so a strong end to the campaign could see them regain the title they lost to the Reds last season.

Liverpool & Manchester City Squad Analysis
Liverpool will go into Sunday's game without defenders Joe Gomez, Connor Bradley and Jermaine Frimpong. On the plus side, centre back Ibrahima Konate made a successful return to the side last week, so he looks set to continue his partnership with Virgil Van Dijk. Further up the field, the in-form Hugo Ekitike will lead the line in the absence of Alexander Isak, who continues to recover from the serious leg injury he suffered in December.
Defensive issues for City
John Stones and Josko Gvardiol remain on the sidelines for City, but Ruben Dias is expected to return to the starting lineup and partner Marc Guehi in the heart of the City defence. Wingers Savinho and Jeremy Doku are also likely to miss out through injury, but Rayan Cherki is expected to be fit following a minor knock in last week's draw at Spurs.

Our Liverpool vs Manchester City Prediction
This is a game that both sides urgently need to win, but we think the points are going to be shared.
City have struggled on the road this season. which makes them difficult to back, especially against a team that rarely loses at home.
That being said, Liverpool have drawn too many home games in recent weeks, so we are not entirely comfortable backing them either.
Given the glittering array of attacking players that will be on the field at Anfield, one thing that does seem certain is that Sunday's game will feature plenty of goals, so we are tipping this massive contest to end in a high scoring draw.
Our prediction for Liverpool vs Manchester City is: Draw and over 3.5 goals.
