The new Premier League campaign kicks off on Friday evening, with champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at Anfield. After cruising to the title last season, Arne Slot's squad looks stronger than ever this time around, thanks to a Summer spending spree that saw them land German starlet Florian Wirtz, Bournemouth full back Milos Kerkez, highly rated defender Jeremie Frimpong and French striker Hugo Ekitiké. Despite those high profile acquisitions, the Reds looked well below their best in last weekend's Community Shield and could have no complaints about their defeat to Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth have also been busy in the transfer market with goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and defender Adrien Truffert arriving from Chelsea and Stade Rennais respectively. Cherries' boss Andoni Iralola will be hoping that those new signings hit the ground running after a tricky Summer that saw them lose key defenders Kerkez, Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi.

Our Liverpool vs Bournemouth Prediction
As you would expect, Liverpool are a very short price for the win, but opening games often throw up shock results, so we are steering clear of the moneyline markets. Liverpool looked very vulnerable defensively last weekend, and it will probably take their new look backline a bit of time to gel.
Similarly, Bournemouth have undergone a radical defensive overhaul, so they are also likely to be slightly undercooked on Friday night. That all points towards an open game with plenty of goalmouth action.
