Aston Villa will be aiming to make it five Premier League wins on the spin when they face out-of-form Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Remarkably, Liverpool have lost four Premier League games, a run that has seen the Reds drop to seventh in the table, seven points behind leaders Arsenal. Manager Arne Slot needs to turn his side's form around ASAP if Liverpool are to have any chance of retaining the title they won so convincingly last season.
In contrast to Liverpool's recent slump, Aston Villa are absolutely flying at the moment. Sunday's win over Manchester City moved Unai Emery's side into the top half of the table for the first time this season, and despite failing to score in their opening four matches, Villa look well-equipped to mount a serious challenge for a Champions League place.

Liverpool - Aston Villa: Form Analysis
After starting the season with five successive victories, Liverpool looked on course for another dominant season. However, a last gasp defeat at Crystal Palace in late September has been followed by defeats to Chelsea, Manchester United and Brentford.
In truth, there were a few worrying signs even when the Reds were winning their early season games. Few of their displays were convincing and almost all of their victories were down to late winners. Arne Slot desperately needs the likes of Mo Salah, Florian Wirtz and Virgil Van Dijk to find their best form, otherwise the current slump could soon turn into a full blown crisis.
Villa on form
In contrast to the Reds, Villa had a miserable start to the campaign, picking up just three points and two goals in their opening five games. However, since then, Villa have been unstoppable, picking up impressive wins against Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, and Manchester City. If Unai Emery's side can replicate the display that saw them beat City 1-0 last Sunday, they will have every chance of getting something from their trip to Anfield.

Liverpool & Aston Villa Squad Analysis
A series of niggling injuries are hampering Arne Slot's attempts to turn around Liverpool's season.
First choice keeper Alisson remains out with a thigh problem, whilst defender Jeremie Frimpong is expected to miss at least another month with a similar problem. Midfielder Ryan Gravenbach is also a doubt (ankle), whilst big money signing Alexander Isak is struggling to recover from a persistent groin problem.
More problems for Buendia
After forcing his way into the Villa starting lineup, Villa attacking midfielder Emi Buendia looks set for a long spell on the sidelines after picking up a foot injury in the victory over Manchester City.
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Youri Tielemans remains out with a long term calf problem and right back Andres Garcia is still not fully recovered from his muscle injury.

Our Liverpool vs Aston Villa Prediction
These are worrying times for Liverpool, and a visit from an in-form Villa side is the last thing that the Reds need at the moment.
Unai Emery has his Villa side firing on all cylinders, so we are tipping them to make it five wins in a row by triumphing on Saturday night.
There is value in backing Villa outright at a whopping 4.75, but we are hedging our bets by taking the slightly shorter price on a 'draw no bet' selection.
Our prediction for Liverpool vs Aston Villa is: Villa to win (draw no bet).
