Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan will try to cool down the red-hot Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic in the third round of the 2025 Wuhan Open on Thursday.
Noskova is a +180 underdog despite winning 7 of her last 8 matches.
Current Form:
Rybakina swept Jaqueline Cristian 6-4, 6-3 to advance into the round of 16. The Kazakh got the better of the exchanges by holding all her serves and breaking Cristian twice. Rybakina is now 30-12 in hard-court matches and 47-18 in 2025. She carries a 5-9 record against the top 20 players on the WTA Tour this year.
Noskova continues to play well in China, besting top-notch opponents to move one win away from another WTA 1000 quarterfinals appearance. After scoring wins over Jessica Pegula and Zheng Qinwen in Beijing, the Czech salvaged another signature win in Wuhan after sweeping four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka of Japan 7-6, 6-3. Noskova collected 35 points behind the first serves and added 19 more on the second serves to hold 100 percent of her service game. She also scored a clutch breakpoint conversion in the 8th game of the third set, allowing her to serve for the match in the next game.

Our Linda Noskova vs Elena Rybakina Prediction
Linda Noskova has showcased her rapidly improving game and strong mental fortitude throughout her run in Beijing and now in Wuhan. In her recent win over Osaka, Noskova proved that her previous wins over Pegula and Zheng are no flukes and that she can consistently play well against an elite-level player. Rybakina takes a 2-0 head-to-head record against Noskova into their upcoming match on Thursday, but it’s worth noting that the Kazakh hasn’t reached a quarterfinal since losing to Iga Swiatek in the final of the 2025 Cincinnati Open. Rybakina is also 5-9 against the WTA top 20 this year, which makes her look vulnerable despite her 2-0 record against the No. 17-ranked Noskova.
Fearless Forecast: Linda Noskova digs deep from her bag of tricks to beat Elena Rybakina 6-4, 5-7, 7-6.
