LDU Quito and Palmeiras will face off again this Wednesday, September 16, in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals. The Brazilian team enters the match with a 1-0 lead, but the series is far from decided. In fact, the result of the first leg left the impression that Palmeiras could have built a larger lead and ended up paying the price for its lack of decisiveness.
LDU will now have the advantage it was hoping for: its home crowd, the altitude in Quito, and 90 minutes to turn the series around. In the first leg, the team struggled to create chances but managed to stay alive, and now a single goal could completely change the game.
Palmeiras, for its part, comes into this match off a 2-0 victory over São Paulo in the Brasileirão. The win was important, though the team will have to face this second leg without Gustavo Gómez, who is suspended due to accumulated yellow cards.
I don’t expect a chaotic game from the start, but I do think we’ll see more open play as the match progresses. That’s why “both teams to score” strikes me as one of the best value bets in this matchup.

Our LDU Quito vs Palmeiras Prediction
Betting on both teams to score makes sense because the series is far from decided. Palmeiras have the advantage, but their lead isn’t big enough to let them relax, especially after the chances they squandered in the first leg.
LDU need to score at least one goal and will have a much more favorable setting in Quito. If they score, Palmeiras will have to step out of their comfort zone, and that’s where space could open up for Vitor Roque, Arias, and the rest of the team.
I don’t think we need to expect a game with 4 or 5 goals. A 1-1 draw or even a 2-1 win for LDU fits perfectly with what we're expecting.
Our prediction for LDU Quito vs. Palmeiras is: Both teams to score.
