The battle of two rising stars, Learner Tien of the United States, will face Justin Engel of Germany in the first round of the 2025 Mallorca Championships.
Tien competes in his third grass-court tournament in three weeks, hoping to produce something to build on ahead of the Wimbledon Open, following early exits in Stuttgart and Halle. Engle also qualified for the main draw in Mallorca after beating Roman Safiullin 6-7(4) 7-6(6) 7-5 to get the lucky loser nod despite the loss to Sebastian Ofner 4-6, 4-6 in the final qualifier.
